I knew I wanted to be an artist since I was 6 years old. In school, the only class I truly felt at home and in my element was art. I studied art in college, then went on to do arts and crafts and create museum quality reproduction Native American art for sale for almost the next decade. After about a 15 year hiatus altogether from creating art, I have been led to paint again by seemingly divine intervention and have rediscovered the same love and serenity from the chaos that I found in elementary school art classes.
I have dove deep into watercolor on traditional watercolor paper. I use the best archival quality paints and paper available for lightfastness and longevity. Watercolor is a novel medium for me but there is a fascination I have with it. When a watercolor is really good, it is great. The fascination I have is with how to achieve that.
I love lanscapes, sunsets, water, mountains and nature. I photograph nature scenery that tickles my inspiration to paint. Since I now paint for me as a diversion from my former path, I like to take advantage of impulse moments to paint whatever may hit me. "Painting for me" has resurrected my art from a 15 year hiatus and personal art death. Other than nature, I am attracted to the colorful and shiny things, like Christmas lights, cute animals and the like.
